The Minister of State for Labour and Employment, Olorogun (Barr) Festus Keyamo SAN, through the National Directorate of Employment, NDE , has engaged an appreciable number of women from the Isoko federal constituency in an ongoing skills acquisition training.
The one day training workshop on cosmetology is centered on the art and mentorship in Soap making, Detol and Vaseline of 50 participants drawn from all the wards in Isoko federal constituency.
The training which was influenced and facilitated by Hon Joel-Onowakpo Thomas, a chieftain of the All Progressives Congress, APC, and the Isoko federal constituency candidate of the party in the 2019 general elections, is in tandem to his undying zeal and passion to better the lots and improved the standard of living of his constituents above the poverty index.
Declaring the training officially open, Hon Joel-Onowakpo Thomas who was ably represented by Hon (Pst) Silas Buowe in a warmly expression, appreciated the kind gestures of the Honourable Federal Minister of State for Labour and Employment, Olorogun Festus Keyamo SAN, for the opportunity given to Isoko federal constituents to get trained and empowered through the National Directorate of Employment, NDE, in line with the ‘Next Level’ agenda of President Muhammadu Buhari.
Addressing the participants, Hon (Pst) Silas Buowe said, “this is one of Hon Joel-Onowakpo Thomas’s contribution towards ensuring and towards ameliorating the plight of men and women of his federal constituency”.
“For this singular reason, he has kept his eyes open for any opportunity available in this country to see how he can be of help to his people and on this note, he has therefore found one in this very rare chance to get at least fifty women taken out of poverty”.
“Therefore, I want to inform you that you are here under the auspices of Hon Joel-Onowakpo Thomas whom through the Honourable Minister of State for Labour and Employment, Olorogun (Barr) Festus Keyamo SAN, think that women should be empowered”.
“We must be put on the know that women are an integral part of nation building and on this, the Honourable Federal Minister and Hon Joel-Onowakpo Thomas thought it wise to empower as many women as possible whilst equipping them in human capacity development”.
“Some persons may ask why is it only fifty person? It is very obvious that if Hon Joel-Onowakpo Thomas have the opportunity to take one million women out of poverty in Isoko federal constituency, he will not hesitate to do so.”
“I want to also assure you If the Honourable Minister of State and President Muhammadu Buhari have the opportunity to take one million Isoko women out of poverty, they will also do so but be rest assured, this is a starting point for more things to come to our constituency through Hon Joel-Onowakpo Thomas, my principal.”
Also in the team of the Hon Joel-Onowakpo Thomas to officially kick start the training undertaken by a team headed by Ms Carl Mbanefo from the National Directorate of Employment, are Chief Andy Ejeje and High Chief Edhekpo Uyoyou.
